Conor, sorry for writing on the Friday and not leaving you too much time, but my opening mechanism is very simple and all parts are probably available. There are only 5 parts- 2 motors, 2 strings and an arduino. Since we're using a model door I decided just to use a simple motor/spring method. It would be slightly different for a full scale door but it will be fine for a model door. So once the signal is sent to open, 1 motor (depending on the way the door is layed out) will spin, dragging the string towards it and the string is attached to the door ( using liquid cement if not just sellotape) thus opening the door and vice versa for closing. The only thing I'm unsure on is how to use the Bluetooth in this (maybe we'll have to switch to something else- depends on what you think is the most suitable) thanks in advance
